Spanish e-coffee with... Talentor Romania

In Servitalent, as Talentor Spain we created this initiative called “Spanish e-coffee with...” as a team building activity that aims to increase knowledge and integration between the teams of different nationalities with the objective of improving our international recruitment services within Talentor International.

Our first "Spanish e-coffee with..." was with our partners from Talentor Romania, letting us have the opportunity to interview Irina Pintoi, Managing Partner, about the important factors to consider when looking for talent in Romania and about their experience working with the local Spanish market. Here’s what she share with us:

Irina, please tell us a little bit about Talentor Romania!

  • Talentor Romania was established in 2009. The company currently has 12 members which are set-up in dedicated teams servicing the company’s three main business lines, i.e. IT & Digital, Engineering & Manufacturing and Services.

What would you say are the most important factors to consider for a foreign company when looking for talent in Romania? What important aspects should you consider before starting the search?

  • The expansion of foreign direct investment in the local market, Romania’s accession to the EU and the country’s recent economic developments has strongly contributed to the growth of talent in the local market and to the mobility of the workforce from Romania to abroad and the other way around. Further on, we’ve noticed local talent’s increased flexibility and capacity to adapt to new challenges and, as a result, we are able to search for talent in the most unusual places and shift it across industries. The key aspect when searching for talent is the cultural fit between the company and the individual.

What are the most demanded positions by foreign companies in the Romanian market?

  • The IT sector has grown exponentially in the last years on the back of the tax exemptions the local Government has put into place for this business and also given the access to qualified staff in the local market. Hence, positions in the IT sector are the most demanded ones by foreign companies. Also, when entering the local market, foreign companies search for plant/operations managers or other qualified positions in their local organizations dedicated to implementing the policies defined at HQ level.

Which sectors are you specialized in?

  • In Talentor Romania we are specialized in executive search and recruitment in the IT and technical/industrial areas (telecom, construction, energy, engineering, automotive etc.). The company also has experience in recruiting for companies in the retail and services business.

And finally, could you tell our clients and followers about your experience in the Spanish market?

  • We’ve recruited for Spanish companies active in the areas of software development and real estate development for their Romanian operations. Also, before the establishment of Talentor Spain, our company has recruited in Romania engineers and SAP specialist for a Spanish company for its operations in Spain.
